Caminante offers a solid value proposition for travelers on the Camino route. Upon arrival, I appreciated the owner's hands-on approach, providing a personal welcome that made my experience feel more human and less transactional. The facilities include a cozy patio-ideal for the early-rising pilgrim needing to wash clothes- and a compact kitchen with essential amenities. While it lacks a stove, it comfortably seats four, making it a suitable spot for sharing meals. My room, spacious and featuring a shared bathroom, offered a peaceful night's sleep despite the central location. Hot water was readily available in the shower, and the host ensured the heating ran effectively, which added to the comfort. Dining was easy with an attached restaurant offering convenient meals; we particularly enjoyed the pilgrim dinner downstairs after a day of walking. Wi-Fi was reliable, enhancing my stay. With the added benefit of being near the Cathedral and a supermarket just a ten-minute walk away, Caminante strikes a commendable balance between cost and comfort-an excellent choice for budget-conscious adventurers seeking a no-frills yet enjoyable experience.
